Sonu Sood Reacts To Claims Of His Ghar Bhejo Movement Being Political Motivated: ‘I Don’t Care, Such Allegations Strengthen My Resolve’
When the Coronavirus pandemic caused a lockdown, affecting many people, physically, mentally and even financially, especially the migrant workers, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood stepped forward to ease the pain of the people by helping them. Seeing so many people stranded in the city with zero income and wanting to go back to their native house, he arranged for bus services across states for the people with an initiative called #GharBhejo. This sweet gesture won millions of people’s hearts and soon he was branded a messiah for almost everyone in the country. However, there have also been allegations that his relief efforts are backed by a political motive.

The allegations were made by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Congress leader Nagma, who said that there is a possibility that there is the political director behind it. Responding to these allegations, Sonu was quoted saying to TOI, “When those allegations were made about me and the controversy erupted, I didn’t even read what was being written. When someone called to take my opinion on the matter, I was busy arranging travel for labourers and I told the person that right now I am doing something important and I don’t have time to react.”

Sonu also said that he doesn’t care about such allegations as people will always attack the one who is trying to do good work. “I don’t care about such allegations. The idea is, when you are trying to do something different and good, people will point their fingers at you. As a matter of fact, such allegations strengthen my resolve to do more and do better. And we actually got inspired to do more. We are, and we will continue doing the good work,” he was further quoted by the portal.
